How to Effectively Communicate Leave No Trace Practices

We are often asked how folks should approach individuals who are causing outdoor impacts and damage. This guide for land managers, volunteers, educators, and inspired stewards explains the ins and outs of what makes an effective educational interaction with others on how they can Leave No Trace. These guidelines paired with Authority of The Resource methods allow us all to work together to protect outdoor spaces and create a collective outdoor ethic. Remember, personal safety is always a priority when approaching others. Impacts that are illegal or dangerous in nature should be left to legal authorities and land managers.
